Remember putting the ink in the top and fanning the paper out!
We was printing the posters for Cinzano (with Joan Collins and Leonard Rossiter). Moved on then to every job going. As ya did!

Bought my first big bike , a 1973 Kawasaki Z1 -bright orange and dark red...wish I still had it-worth a bloody fortune now...working at an Italian company in Basingstoke as a trainee..had my first boys' holiday at the Hotel Bahamas Lloret de Mar....all in all ,a good year

Re: 1978
I married Mrs Iron on 19th August 1978. This also happened to be the opening day of the new season - the first season in my memory when the newly-relegated Hammers were in the second division. I nipped out of the wedding reception to find out how we were doing.....4-0 up after 25 minutes against Notts County! West Ham were obviously going to win every game that season and come straight back up.

Then reality set in...................
